Alberto J.F. Cardelle, PhD, professor and department chair of health studies at East Stroudsburg University, has been awarded a grant by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to study its New Connections program. The cause of Mexican immigrant Luis Ramirez has been taken up by Governor Edward G. Rendell.  Ramirez died in a hate-crime related beating in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania last July.  Governor Rendell has asked the U.S. Attorney General to pursue charges against two individuals involved in the beating for violating Ramirez’s civil rights...Click here for official Governor Rendell press release.   Click here to congratulate Governor Rendell.
